We don't have video on our podcasts yet, so you don't get to see NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Ryan Ellis showing off his signed Capitals helmet commemorating the 2018 Stanley Cup victory as we talked mostly racing but a little sports fandom on a very exciting episode of Vroom Vroom. Fortunately, thanks to Russian Machine Never Breaks, the Caps blog of record (as well as thanks to Ryan), there are plenty of photos.
Mostly, we're talking about what Ryan uses his helmets for: driving at unsafe speeds in heavy traffic, going in circles for hours at a time. Also, driving the greatest race car in the history of race cars, the No. 43 Four Loko Camaro, at Talladega next month.

What is it that fandom does to us? Here we were commiserating about Washington having a lousy season, allowing for a little less stress in the spring... and almost immediately after we finished recording, the Capitals moved into playoff position in the Eastern Conference. So much for Ryan being able to go to the track without the added stress of worrying about playoff hockey.
This episode is on the full Casual Diehard feed, as well as our Vroom Vroom channel of course. When we get a hockey show going, we'll have to ask Ryan back. For now, please subscribe on your pod platform of choice!
